Promise not Problems

Did you know that you can get through anything? Yes, you. That’s right.

God gave you promises – and He cannot lie. He fulfills His promises to you as you consistently humble yourself in obedience to your role in relationship with Him. His Word says – “YOU WIN.” No matter the circumstance, you will be victorious in the end.

Jesus said: “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John 16:33

Jesus’ finished work provided that you operate from a position of victory. Through the Holy Spirit living in you, there is access to a consistent, individualized relationship with God the Father. He knows you better than you know yourself because He created you. He knows your past, current, and future. Matter of fact, God does not start something until He has already finished it. He is not bound by time. He sees our time in the earth as a circle – from end to beginning. That’s why we have to get His perspective to see what He sees.

God cares about every detail about you and your life – there’s nothing too small. And He wants you to have a fabulous life beyond your most beautiful desires. Because of Jesus, you have the power of God inside of you, accessible, to help you triumph over any situation.

“You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.” 1 John 4:4, New International Version (NIV)

Build a mature faith that allows you to believe God and His Word in all things, beyond what you feel and the circumstances. It takes you engaging regularly with the Holy Spirit. The #1 way God speaks and directs is through His Word. You must spend daily time reading the Bible to feed and strengthen your spirit and get closer to God. Ask God, “What do you want me to read today?” You may hear a small voice or feel drawn to a particular book and chapter. You can even ask God to lead you as you randomly open to a page. The sure thing is this – whatever effort you take to seek God, He WILL honor it, just be consistent.

“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.” Matthew 7:7-8, NIV

Another way we activate our faith and enable God in our lives is to speak the Word. Life circumstances can tempt us to fear, worry, act independent of God, be emotionally batty (c’mon…that’s real lol).

Find scriptures that deal with the circumstance you face, personalize it and speak it out loud. One of my favorite scriptures is

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:4-7, NIV

When you speak it, personalize it and make it active saying “I, (your name) will not be anxious about anything but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, I present my requests to my God. And the peace of God, that transcends all understanding guards my heart and mind in Jesus Christ.” It truly is an empowering, faith-building practice to personalize the scriptures you declare over your life.

God didn’t call you to report what’s going on, He called you to change it. Don’t talk about the problem and what you see. Walk by faith, not by sight. (2 Cor 4:13 & 5:7) We must speak the things that are not currently present as if they are already here. (Rom 4:17 & Mark 11:23) That’s what God does. (Gen 1:1-31)

When we believe God, we activate His power in our circumstances. Triumph over your circumstances by reminding yourself of ways that God has come thru for you in the past. Strengthen your resolve of His faithfulness recalling testimonies that you’ve experienced and those of other people. Build your faith by listening to Word-filled messages. And importantly, PRAY. Consistently dialogue with The Father. He wants you to involve Him in every thought regarding your circumstance – even though He already knows everything.

That should give you the freedom to be 150% honest with Him. Even more important, LISTEN after you pray. Most of us are guilty of doing all the talking and none of the listening in our time with God. Even if you think you’re not hearing, honor Him by setting aside time to be still with no distractions just to listen. You may be surprised at what happens thereafter.

Let’s do what is necessary to have surety of Who God IS and what He says. Let’s be undefeatable through His ability in us. Give importance to the Bible in your daily life. Cultivate the practice of using what God gave you to handle any circumstance. God promises always remain true. God exalts His Word above His own name and the Bible indicates that it will never pass away. Like the very nature of God –eternal. (Matt 24:35) Focus on His promises and not the problem. You will overcome.

Declare: Thanks be to God, who always leads me in triumph in Christ, and manifests through me the sweet aroma of the knowledge of Him in every place (2 Cor 2:14).

Scripture References:

-It is written: “I believed; therefore I have spoken.”[a] Since we have that same spirit of[b] faith, we also believe and therefore speak (2 Corinthians 4:13).

-For we live by faith, not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7).

– As it is written: “I have made you a father of many nations.”[a] He is our father in the sight of God, in whom he believed—the God who gives life to the dead and calls into being things that were not (Romans 4:17).

-In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.  Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light…” (Genesis 1:1-31)

-Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away (Matthew 24:35).
